The calendar is the way Registered Rowers get on a row.
To register click on Registration at the top of the home page. It’s easy. There is no charge. See the note on “printable page” at the bottom of this page for information on the only way this information will be shared.

Registered rowers Click here to sign in.
•••
After signing in click on the date on the calendar to see and join that day’s row.
•••
Click the magenta box that says “sign up.”
•••
Click on “save this row” at the bottom of the page. Your name will be added to the list of rowers. If you are an extra rower and someone drops out above your name, you will be moved up automatically. You will need to check to see if you have moved up to one of the 4 seats.

•••

If you have signed up as one of the four rowers and need to cancel within 24 hours of the scheduled row time, please contact the coxswain. If there is an extra-rower, contact that person and tell them that they have been moved up.

If you are an extra-rower, it is your responsibility to check the calendar before the row to see if you have moved into a seat.

You will find contact information for those on the row by clicking on “printable page” just above date (on the page with the row details).

If there are not four rowers signed up, the cox may cancel the row and you will get a notification by email. If the cox feels that the row should cancel because of weather or some other reason you will be notified. Any questions about the row, contact the coxswain.

•••

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the row and park where signs say “BHCR Parking” and “KSEA Dropoff.”

Row categories:

Recreation – an easy row for beginners or rowers who just want to get out on the water. Learning and using good technique is still important.

Exercise These rows have more vigor, but always adapted to the particular crew.

Race training – Clear enough.

However the type of row can change. For example, if the row is designated as “recreation” and the crew would like some more exercise the cox can do that. If a rower on an “exercise” row doesn’t feel up to it that day just tell the cox and row with whatever power you feel comfortable. Following the timing is the same, you just pull your oar more gently. (Race training is different.)

When you are joining a scheduled row you will see the word Instructions near the top of the page.
There is an option for a printable page with phone numbers and emails for rowers and cox on that row.
Rowers use this to contact an “extra” if they have to drop out or to contact the cox for any reason.

Important ! Only drop out for an important reason. If there are no extras it could cancel the row for everyone.
