Deborah Evans began rowing on the mighty Connecticut River with a borrowed recreational single-shell, emulating the water bugs that flitted over the farm ponds in memories from her childhood. Nick Robinson At the tender age of eight, Nick Robinson took command of the family dinghy, thence proceeded to explore the Maine coast by oar, paddle, and sail. In time he accumulated 131 feet of small boats, almost half of them for rowing.
